Bee Wax

Bee wax is produced by bees in the form of tiny scales which are “sweated” from the segments on the underside of the abdomen. To stimulate the production of Bee wax the bees gorge themselves with honey or sugar syrup and huddle together to raise the temperature of the cluster. To produce one pound of wax requires the bees to consume about ten pounds of honey.

Yellow Bee wax, this is the natural crude product that is directly derived from the honeycomb. It is unrefined and raw.

White Bee wax, White Bee wax is created by filtering and purifying the yellow variety and it is used a lot in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industry.

Bee wax is a very versatile material and its applications cover many different areas. Bee wax is an excellent natural material and is used in many consumer products and is even very popular in some industrial areas. The following are some examples of applications for Bee wax:

  • Cosmetics: Bee wax is one of the key ingredients in many cosmetics, such as lip balms, face creams and hand creams. It has a water-locking, moisturising and protective effect and helps to keep the skin healthy.
  • Candle making: Bee wax is one of the main materials used to make high quality candles. From traditional Bee wax candles to modern decorative candles, Bee wax is an important raw material.
  • Food preservation: Bee wax can be used to make food packaging materials such as Bee wax paper and Bee wax cloth. These materials can seal food and prevent oxidation or spoilage.
  • Textiles: Bee wax can be used as a water repellent, preservative or as a coating for weaving onto fabrics. This allows textiles to be used outdoors and protects them from water and mildew.
  • Woodwork protection: Bee wax can be used as a natural protector for woodwork, preventing it from drying out, cracking and staining.
  • Medical care: Bee wax can be used to make ointments, pain relief patches and compress packs. It has an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect and promotes wound healing.
  • Lubricant: Due to its low coefficient of friction and high heat resistance, Bee wax can be used as a lubricant for high temperature machines.

There are two packing for wax: bag packing for 10 sheets per bag,50kgs/bag; carton packing for 5 sheets per carton,25kgs/carton. The quality of bee wax is the same in both bags and cartons.

Bee wax should be stored in a cool, dry place and away from sunlight and humidity. It can be kept in an airtight container, such as a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid or a plastic container. It is important to keep the wax away from sources of heat, as it can melt and become difficult to handle. Additionally, bee wax should not be stored near any chemicals, as it can absorb odors and flavors from its surroundings. Properly stored bee wax can last for several years without losing its quality.
